Description
Off the west coast of Yoryyn looms a large island - "Forsaken by The Tree", Misrel H'Assan. The sheer cliffs make it nearly impossible to access even on the highest tides, ancient stairs ever crumbling in solitary decay. Torches that tower three men high remain unlit, waiting for their keepers whom left centuries ago. The gate breathes stagnant fog and swallows all in silent darkness. The dense forests extinguish light even at high noon, suffocating and eternal. No birds chirp, no byyst stirs, no spirit whispers - but the air is thick with the emotions of the forest, forgotten and cursed, the cinders of an ancient war, the skeleton of a once proud culture.

The single gate that makes it possible to access Misrel H'Assan Island, though even then it is an extreme hardship - one must take a boat on the lowest tide around the eastern cliff, then climb nearly 200 ft on a rope ladder - Misrel H'Assan has its own weather system and tide, both the effects of the Nyyes Abyyss and the island's unusual geography, not to mention another, unidentified force at work. Thick, slippery moss grows an all sides of the island, even upon its trees, making the above mentioned methods a necessity. Almost all cultures forbid stepping foot upon the island - only fools and scholars even try to climb its cliffs. The gate itself dates back to the Mother Tree Era, perhaps even earlier.
Very few scriptures about the island and its history have been found - the glyphs and writings on the stones match no known form of Assanna or its dialects.
